The Key Features of the Project Included:
Workshop Fabrication: A total of 1,500 isometrics were logged, priority sequenced, engineered, fabricated, NDT approved, (PED approved where appropriate) and transported to site over a 24 week fabrication period. The workshop element consisted of the fabrication of Stainless, Hastelloy and Bio-bore pipework incorporating approximately 60,000 weld inches.
Workshop fabrication manpower peak: 20 men.
Site Works: The mechanical scope of works included the fabrication and installation of pipework, removal of existing equipment and associated pipework, installation of new equipment including PTFE lined pipe, passivation, painting and insulation.
The mechanical scope included the strip-out of existing reactors, Filter Dryers (including approximately 3000m of pipework), and subsequent re-route of pipework during a 2 week shutdown, installation of 5 new 16,000 litre reactors (weighing 14 tonnes each), 2 new 6mtr filter dryers (weighing 18 tonnes each), various sized head tanks, receiver vessels, milling and pack-off clean room facilities for the new dryers.
Pipe Meterage: In excess of 10,000 metres of pipework was installed, supported and tested.
Direct Site Labour Hours: A total of 80,000 direct labour hours were expended on site with the majority of the hours concentrated in a 6 month period.
Site Man Loading: Site manpower peak: 70 men.
